Background:

The London Conference on Supporting Syria and the Region held on February 4, 2016 brought together various governments to adopt a new Compact between the Government of Jordan (GoJ) and the international community. The Compact summarizes a number of commitments made by the GoJ and the international community to support Syrian refugees and provide them with humanitarian and livelihoods support and to create economic opportunities for them. As a result, the Jordan Compact requires extensive coordination and accountability from the GoJ to deliver on key indicators in return for substantial financial support and market access.

These requirements place a considerable workload on Jordan’s Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC). Therefore, a Project Management Unit (PMU) was established to provide MoPIC with the needed capacity to implement the Compact. Specifically, the PMU leads activities required to implement the key reforms noted in the Jordan Compact, carry out its responsibilities toward the international community, and assist MoPIC to manage a World Bank Program-for-Results (PforR) to create economic opportunities for Jordanians and Syrian refugees.

With a range of activities and stakeholders, PMU places a premium on effectively communicating the progress, results and impact to various stakeholders including GoJ entities. One such channel is through reports that capture the progress and successes to stakeholders. To this end, DAI seeks to engage a short-term graphic designer (hereby referred to as the Consultant) to conceptualize information, draft concepts, complete design work and assignments with high quality for a refined, succinct, and engaging communications product.
